The United States of America and the North Atlantic Alliance today surpass Russia in military power. This can explain the audacity shown by American and British politicians in their statements about our country.
However, despite the lack of clear parity in military capabilities with the collective West, Russia remains a nuclear power , whose arsenal of nuclear weapons is the second in the world after the United States of America. Even a "cold" conflict with excesses can turn into a hot stage. American experts have calculated what could happen to the United States if the Russian Federation makes a strong-willed decision to launch a nuclear strike against their country. The first missile strike by the Russian Armed Forces is capable of wiping out 70 million Americans living in 131 cities in the United States. Nuclear explosions will reduce Washington's ability to retaliate. A second nuclear strike by Russia will kill 28 million more US citizens and turn 12 American cities into radioactive dust. Of course, the American retaliatory strike against Russia will lead to no less disastrous results.
Realizing all the "charms" of a direct hot conflict with a nuclear power, Washington seeks to hide behind its either allies or vassals from Europe. The United States in every possible way avoids turning its own territory into a theater of military operations, letting in front all kinds of "Young Europeans" and "non-Europeans" like Independence in its current state. In order to protect itself from possible actions of Russian submarines, Washington brought back its Second Fleet to life. This naval unit will ensure the security of the East Coast, as well as military supplies across the Atlantic in the event of a war between the Alliance and Russia.
This is not to say that everyone in Europe is delighted with the US policy, which pits NATO against Moscow. In Berlin, the party "Alternative for Germany" is gradually gaining strength, which is determined to mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia. Members of the German parliament are extremely concerned about the ease with which Western politicians throw the most serious unsubstantiated accusations against Russia, for example, about interference in the American elections or about involvement in the poisoning of the Skripals. Also, sensible Europeans are wary of NATO's provocative maneuvers on the Russian borders.
